Khao San Road

Khao San Road

“Khaosan” literally translates as “milled rice” in the Thai language. Therefore the name “Khaosan Road” is attributed to the area’s historical function as the center of rice trading during the reign of King Rama VI. Today the place has transformed into a tourist spot, featuring a variety of products and services. Tourists find everything that they need here including fashion clothing and accessories, souvenirs, books, restaurants, and bars, and tattoo parlors. The place is also known for its incredibly affordable accommodation. Additionally, the remarkable street food vendors spreading on the road are so famous among foodies that it has been praised by CNN as one of the world’s best street food destinations. Khaosan Road is also a night entertainment paradise for those who love to dance the night away.
